Thanks for checking out Stormbound. This blog’s here to give you updates (to a degree) on the creation and eventual release of the book — a story about emotional survival, fatherhood, and what we sacrifice for the people we love.
I started Stormbound for a few reasons: my love of writing, a brain that refuses to switch off, and a random midnight thought about search and rescue in a beefed-up 4x4. Don’t ask why — I genuinely don’t know. But that late-night spiral, plus some research into real search and rescue work, eventually sparked the idea that became Stormbound.

Stormbound follows Mark Turner — quietly brave, emotionally worn down, and stuck in a strained marriage he won’t leave for the sake of his son, Jamie. Years ago, a violent storm ended in the loss of his father, and Mark’s never let go of the guilt. Since then, his life has revolved around one thing: keeping Jamie safe, no matter the cost.
Set in a home where the wallpaper’s as tired as he is, this is a story of emotional survival — of guilt, fatherhood, and the slow burn of being trapped somewhere that’s meant to feel safe. As tensions rise and Jamie starts to notice the cracks, Mark is forced to confront not just the storm in his past, but the one he’s caught in now.
Gritty, grounded, and painfully real, Stormbound is about what we give up to protect the ones we love — and whether love alone is ever enough.
Sounds like it’s got a lot of potential, certainly a captivating plot line. Can’t wait to read the first couple of chapters!
